Q.26 Does my local degree count while finding Job in Japan?
No, however if it is a skill based experience and not a mere degree, it may count because most of the companies do not recognize the other country degrees except the globally recognized universities that’s too in few cases. But don’t get discouraged because you have all the chances if you have higher Japanese language knowledge and you have other skills too. You can search for Jobs in Japan and it is not that difficult to find a job if the student is sensible enough to understand and act according to Japanese culture, behavior and system. All of the people who spread hatred and terror about failures in finding Jobs in Japan actually failed due to not understanding and acting as per Japanese culture. Or they just don’t want to, due to their own pride. If you have higher level of JLPT with you and any other skills that are useful for the Japanese company they will hire you definitely as the requirement of skilled foreigners is rising day by day in Japan. You will be in much better position and opportunities with Japanese. As far as my experience is there I have seen many young people joining in Japan but the companies usually do not recognize BCA or MCA kind of degrees from India for example. They test all the skills in interview and they have their own parameters for example globally recognized certifications like CCNA or CCNP for networking or for example TOEIC for English since there are rules and requirements from Japan embassy to issue work visa. Therefore Japanese companies also have to act and modify parameters accordingly.
