Now working in Japan as a student is entirely a different ballgame. Since the visa type is different and now you are a student, you get work permission after landing on Airport in Japan and are allowed to work part time in Japan. Then you can work 28 hours per week on school weeks and 40 hours per week during semester breaks. Some students are not allowed to take any jobs related to night clubs or adult entertainment. Common Jobs in Japan students get are for example, Bartender, Dishwasher, Data entry worker, Waiter, Store helper or convenience store worker, Cashier, Food packaging, Delivery boy etc.
Most students work in shops or restaurants where you can earn around 1000 Yen per hour. However, sometimes it can be hard to find a job if you don’t speak at least basic Japanese. The best paid jobs for students are often to work as an English teacher. Either at a school or an English teaching company or you can just give private conversation lessons in a café then it is easy to earn up to 3000 Yen per hour or even more.
The work permit is a sticker in your passport. To obtain it you must be in Japan on a student visa. The easiest way to get the permit is to get it immediately directly at the airport when you first arrive in Japan. Or you can visit to the Immigration later but since it will take time so the school can guide you about how to get work permit immediately on Airport itself.
